Interview with Sherry Gloag, author of "From Now Until Forever"

We are lucky today to have Sherry Gloag, the talented writer and lovely human being stop by for an interview.
 Love your cover, Sherry!
1)
How old were you when you knew you wanted to become a writer?

The very first time I seriously tried writing I must have been about twelve.  My teacher found it, confiscated it with a wry comment that she’d never seen me write so clearly before, and I never saw it again!
2)     What did you do for a living in your “previous” life?
I worked with and trained to become a social welfare officer for the blind after I left school.  I loved the work and the amazing people I met on that particular road of my life’s journey. After I married I did various jobs, including school secretary, classroom assistant, working in a garden centre, and shop work of various kinds. We moved when our son changed schools at ten and became self employed running our own pet shop business.

3)     What do your closest relatives thinking of your writing career?
“Not a lot.”  I honestly think most of them are embarrassed! J
4)     What genre do you write?
I considered myself simply an author of mainstream contemporary, but my very first review mentioned things like ‘suspenseful’, ‘edge of the seat’, ‘fast paced’, so now I say “romance with a smidgeon of suspense”
5)     Are you a plotter or a pantser?
For my sins, I am a Pantser, which means I usually write madly for several chapters and am then revolted by what I’ve written.
6)     Do your characters ever take over when you’re writing?
From start to finish of every story.
7)     Do you get inspiration from real people or places?
Yes. My second novel Duty Calls, is set within the grounds of a near-by National Heritage Estate http://sherrygloagtheheartofromance.blogspot.com/2011/04/influencial-settings-in-duty-calls.html
8)     Do you do a lot of editing before you submit a manuscript?
Masses.  I am grammatically challenged, so I have go over and over my work several times!
Now some personal questions (please feel free to elaborate) :
1)     Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate.
2)     Do you listen to music when you write? What do you listen to? Classical/Alternative
3)     Favorite color? Depends on my mood, but mostly reds, yellows and autumn colours.
4)     Black, white or gray?  Gray
5)     Favorite ice cream flavor?  Vanilla, so boring! LOL
Favorite line of description from one of your books.  The opening line from my new novella From Now Until Forever, published by Astraea Press, Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet stared in amazement at the blooming patch of red milliseconds before the pain exploded in his
arm.
Favorite dialogue from one of your books.  This comes from my first novella, The Wrong Target, my third published book.  It’s a Valentine story published by eTreasures in January this year.
“Goddamit,” he exploded, “Can’t you stand still for one second? I have something to say, but I can’t while you’re jogging round the room.”
She halted toe to toe in front of him. “You have me dismissed from a job I loved, because I upheld the safety of my pupils, and still have the audacity to stalk me to my holiday destination and demand I listen to you because you have something to say?” Flapping her hands at her sides, she spun away and back again, planting her hands on the chair arms, she pinned him in his place and snarled, “Let me tell you something. I’ve come here to enjoy myself and your presence isn’t part of my plan.”
“What is your plan?” he demanded.
“To get laid!”  Astonishment pushed her away from the chair, her eyes wide, her lips curved up in a defiant sneer. “I intend to find myself a man and screw the living daylights out of him. And,” she paused deliberately, “I don’t need you for that.”

Favorite minor character from your book. Sorry, it has to be three.  Rachel, Bella and Megan from Duty Calls.
1)     Dog or cat? Cat
2)     Country or city? Country
3)     Beach or mountains? Both
4)     Skirts or pants? Pants
5)     Early morning or late night? Late night
Cruise in the Caribbean or camping in Yellowstone National Park? Cruise!!!
From Now Until Forever Blurb:

For Prince Liam, families meant bad news, unwanted commitments, and the loss of his personal freedom.  Love spawned white picket fences, slippers at the hearth with a wife and kids making demands, so why did those images disappear when he met Melanie Babcot?
Melanie Babcot fought hard to escape the horrors of her youth and vowed to remain single and free, so when paid to protect Prince Liam from insurgents why did her personal pledge fly out the
