SWEET SATURDAY SAMPLE - MOVIE LOVERS

Welcome! Here's a sweet tidbit from my newest release in the Hollywood Hearts series, MOVIE LOVERS. It's 3 a.m. on Christmas. Jake, blanket wrapped around his waist, and Grace in her robe are watching the snow fall in the living room of her sister's apartment.
“You miss your mom, don’t you?”
She tore her gaze from his body and rested it on his face as she gave a brief nod in answer to his question. “She tried so hard to make it up to us for being a one-parent family. She was like having two parents. Holidays were special times. We all stopped working to play together.”
"You worked as a kid?”
“Yep. Mama’s helper at thirteen. Babysitting when I was fourteen.”
“Me, too. First delivering papers at eleven, then in my dad’s auto shop.”
“You know car repair?”
“Like the back of my hand. When I graduated high school, my dad wanted me to join him.”
“Is he disappointed you didn’t?”
“Not anymore. Since I’ve made a couple of movies. But he was at first. We didn’t speak for a while.”
Gracie touched his shoulder, ignoring the sizzle that leapt into her body at the contact with his skin.
 A bit about the book:

Can revenge turn to regret? Humiliated by a slick producer and her sister’s co-star, Grace plots payback. But the scheme turns sour, robbing Grace of the only happiness she’s known since the death of her beloved mother. Can she regain her self-respect and the respect of the man she loves?

Welcome to the 4th of July blog hop! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Fourth. I'm celebrating by giving away any of my books -- reader's choice -- to 3 lucky commenters. Winners will be selected from the comments below. Here's an excerpt from my new release MOVIE LOVERS.
Grace Brewster couldn’t control her breathing. Alone with Gunther Quill. Little me with one of the biggest producers in Hollywood. He leaned against the corner of his desk. The sleeves of his white shirt were rolled up to the elbows, the neck, unbuttoned. His light blue striped tie hung loose. Grace noticed his perfect haircut and the whitest smile she’d ever seen. Brown hair going gorgeously gray at the temples and broad shoulders drew her attention.

No wedding ring. No family pictures on his desk or credenza. He’s sex on wheels.

His dark brown eyes feasted on her body, not missing one curve or her dangerously low-cut top. Suddenly feeling naked, Grace leaned back a little in her chair, folding her arms across her breasts. Her rich brown curls fell loosely about her shoulders. She blinked at him with the same big, ocean blues as her sister, famous actress Cara Brewster.
“Tell me a little about your script, Ms. Brewster. Does it have a love scene?”
She gulped, her mouth dry as day-old bread. “Of course.”
“Tell me…no, no. Show me.” His eyes danced as he strolled closer to her.
“Show you?” Her palms began to sweat as she rose slowly from her chair. “How?”

A quick "thank you" to our forefathers for making the Unites States possible.

Now tell me in a comment, who is your favorite movie star?? Don't forget your EMAIL ADDRESS to be entered. Any comments without an email will not be entered to win. WINNERS WILL BE CHOSEN ON MONDAY.

"LOVE TALK" ADORA SMUTZ -- INTERVIEW GREY ANDREWS FROM THE MARRIAGE LIST

Back by popular demand, this interview, arranged by Jean with Adora, is a fan favorite.
INTERVIEW WITH GREY ANDREWS FROM THE MARRIAGE LIST

LOVE TALK WITH ADORA SMUTZ
We are joined by my gorgeous, sexy cousin, Ima Slutz, today. She’ll be subbing for me when I go on vacation with one of Jean’s sexy heroes. She’s here to learn the ropes. Today we will be interviewing that devastating man, hero of “The Marriage List”, Grey Andrews!
Adora: Good morning, Grey, how are you?
Grey:   Fine, Adora. You’re looking good for such an early hour. *gaze sweeps over her body*
Adora: Thank you, Grey. *bats eyes*, hey, are you free for a week in February to go to one of those “bathing suit” optional beaches with me?
Grey:   I don’t think Carrie would approve, Adora, do you?
Adora: Who cares what she thinks? All right, Ima, on to the interview. So, I hear you’ve been screwing everything in sight, supposedly looking for a wife. *guffaws behind hand*, yeah right.
Grey: *blushes* I don’t know about the screwing around thing, but I have been looking for a wife. (Grey nervously loosens his tie.)

Adora: Why would a gorgeous rich guy like you want to get married when you could make it with any woman you want?
Grey: Adora! I thought I was supposed to talk about the book, The Marriage List.
Adora: We are…but doing it my way. So give, Grey. What’s up with this stupid list thing, anyway?
Grey: Well, I saw how unhappy my buddies were and so I…
Adora: BORING! Come on, Grey, you’re deep-sixing the whole interview here. Get to the good stuff. How many woman do you think you’ve actually slept with on your marriage “quest.”
Grey: *turns redder*, I’ve lost count, I think…
Adora: Come on! We all know every guy keeps a tally. Is it in the hundreds? The thousands?
Grey: WHAT? Hey, what’s going on here? Where’s Jean.
Adora: She’s off working on a new book in the Hollywood Hearts series. So tell me…are you as good in bed as they say?
Grey: *face turning almost purple*, JEEEAAAANNNN!!!!
Adora: Do you scream like that in bed. God, you’re a good-looking guy, Grey. Why settle for Carrie when you can have me and maybe Ima, here?
Grey: Where is Jean? I’m going to kill her.
Adora: A “quickie” with Grey Andrews is all we have time for today. Hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year and come back every week for more “Love Talk,” with me, Adora Smutz!
Grey: Wait! Adora! Let me talk about the book…about Carrie, how beautiful and smart she is…
Adora: Let’s continue here in my dressing room, Grey. Now what were you saying…
Ima: This is Ima Slutz, signing off for LOVE TALK!

A bit about the book

Can happily ever after start with a list? Grey Andrews thinks so. After ten years of working, saving and investing, Grey finally achieved a level of wealth that allows him to do what he wants with his life. He needs a woman to share it with, but not any woman, the perfect woman. A woman who has the three essential qualities on his marriage list. But after three years of searching he isn’t any closer to finding her than he was when he started out.
Carrie Tucker, an aspiring mystery writer and divorcée struggling to make it in the world of advertising, turned her focus from men to her career after dating too many creeps and losers. She’s finally earned her big break, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the first female creative director in a hot New York ad agency. So what if it means working nights and weekends? It’s not like she has a social life anyway.

SWEET SATURDAY SAMPLE OF MEMORIES OF LOVE

Welcome to my Sweet Saturday Sample from my newest contemporary romance, MEMORIES OF LOVE.
“Dreaming about her again?” His sister, Jane, had an annoying way of zeroing in on just what was on his mind, whether he wanted her to or not. Only two years younger than he, she had his dark good looks and the same sharp brain. Although they had fought like cats and dogs as children, as adults they were devoted to each other. Even more so since the deaths of their parents.

Grant didn’t answer. Didn’t have to. Jane knew because they had talked about it. Argued is more like it. He remembered the most heated flare-up which had happened while they were strolling by the Lincoln Memorial, seven years ago.
“She left you. Stop holding a torch for her!” Jane fairly screamed at him.
“Can you control your heart? I can’t. I’ve tried, and it’s no good.” He stuffed his hands in his pants pockets.
“Then try harder! This is eating you up. You’ve lost weight.”
“And you holding a torch for Jason Sumner wasn’t the same thing?”
“That was high school, Grant.”
“So? You were torn up over him for two years.” He plopped down on the grass.
She joined him. “Yeah? Well, I got wise. I haven’t been like that since.”
“You haven’t loved anyone like that since, either.” His voice softened.
“And I don’t miss it. The heartache, the drama…”
“The love. The affection.”
I’m sorry, Grant. I am. I loved her, too. Carol Anne was…is…amazing. But she’s gone, big brother, and you’ve got to get on with your life.” She put her hand on his arm and stared into his eyes.
“I am, Jane. I’m getting married.” He trained his gaze on a dandelion proudly raising its head among the green blades.
“For all the wrong reasons.”

TUESDAY TALES - WORD PROMPT "LAUGHTER" - THE RESCUED HEART

Welcome to Tuesday Tales! Thanks for stopping by. This is the continuation of Rory's story, THE RESCUED HEART, and the first day Hack shows up to fulfill his sentence.
 THE RESCUED HEART
“You couldn’t wait a damn…” Rory said as she opened the door. She looked up. Dr. Hack Roberts filled the space, his husky, six foot two-inch frame, lazed against the door jamb.

“You knew I was coming. Couldn’t be ready on time? I hate women who are late,” he said, stepping across the threshold.
“It’s not easy to get dressed with this…this thing on my arm.”
“So start earlier.” He walked in and stopped, his gaze perusing the room. “Let’s get this started. I have other things to do than babysit you. Where do I sit?”
“You’re here until three, right?”
“So the judge said.”
She didn’t know whether she wanted to smack the bored, annoyed look off his face or kiss him. Kiss him? Never! Rory pushed the thought out of her mind, but couldn’t tear her gaze off his mocking brown eyes, kissable lips or thick, light brown hair.
“Here,” she pulled out a chair at her tiny desk, just big enough to hold her laptop. He turned his gaze from her breasts to the chair.
“You expect someone my size to squeeze into this tiny space for five hours every day?”
“I expect you to do what the judge said.” Her mouth closed into a tight frown.
His cell phone rang. It played the Swedish Rhapsody.  Intriguing. He likes classical music.
“Felicia,” he said.
“Ah, Miss Pencil calling. Well don’t keep her waiting, Mr. Pussy-whipped.”
He glared at her. Rory lounged on the arm of the sofa, sipping coffee from a pink striped mug, listening to his conversation.
“I’m here until three Felicia. What? No. No, I can’t. That’s what the judge said.”

There was a long silence.
“You want me to get my ass slapped in jail? I’m sure Rory wouldn’t agree to that. No. Three months. Get over it.” He closed the phone. Laughter bubbled up in Rory’s chest. “Leash too long for Miss Splinter?”
He scowled. “None of your business.”
“Tell twiggy not to call. While you’re here you’re mine…my prisoner. To do with as I wish.”
“What?”
“I mean for typing.”
“So where’s the stuff. What do you write, anyway?”
“Romance.”
His face colored in a deep blush. “I’m going to be typing sex stuff?”
“Did I say sex?”
“No, but usually they go hand in hand.”
“Hand in hand? I might not put it exactly like that,” she giggled.

SWEET SATURDAY SAMPLE FROM IF I LOVED YOU

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by. This Sweet Saturday Sample is from IF I LOVED YOU, the first book in the spicy Hollywood Hearts series.

The conversation is between Megan Davis, a financial advisor and Chaz Duncan, drop-dead gorgeous movie star.
“Look, I know you’re famous. My brother is famous…”
“Mark Davis. Star quarterback for the Delaware Demons, right?”
“He’s my twin.”
“You don’t look at all alike. Can you toss a football?” A smile curled his lips.
“Like I haven’t heard that one before. I don’t give a damn you’re famous, okay. Can we get that straight? I’m not impressed, not going to grovel at your feet. You’re simply a potential client whose money I may be managing. No more and no less. I’m not going to swoon and ask for an autograph or throw myself at you. Of course, I’ll do my best to take care of your money as if it was my own, but that’s as far as it goes.”

BOOK 2 IN THE SERIES
“Way to use your charm on me to win my business.” Chaz leaned forward.
“I don’t need charm; I have brains.” A smug smile crossed Meg’s lips.
“Whoa! Oh, yes…Harvard M.B.A., right? Harvey told me.” Chaz sat back in his chair again.
“Right.” Meg leaned back, too, folding her arms across her chest.
“Yale School of Drama here. So don’t condescend to me. I’m not a ‘dumb’ actor in love with himself. And you’re dressed pretty hot for a financial advisor with only dollars and cents on her mind. Not that I’m objecting. I love eye candy…great rack, too…” He grinned at her then pulled out his cell phone.
“Eye candy? Rack? Did you say rack? Why the nerve! Is that your cell phone? Turn it off…” She rose up out of her seat.
“My cell phone is my livelihood. I’m not going to miss an audition or an opportunity to read a script because you want my phone off. And rack is a more polite term than some men would use.”
Megan sank down in her chair, speechless, while Chaz returned a text message.

BOOK 3 IN THE SERIES
“I think perhaps you should talk to someone else here…” She stood up and moved toward the door, but Chaz’s strong grip on her arm stopped her.
“Sit down,” he said quietly.

Sweet Saturday Samples - A Bit of UNDER THE MIDNIGHT MOON

Something sweet from my latest sweet novel, UNDER THE MIDNIGHT MOON, the third book in the Moonlight Series. Drew is trying to figure out what beautiful Mindy wants:

He dropped his hands and backed up. How could I have been so wrong about her?
“Goodnight, Mindy. It’s been fun. I hope you succeed with your theater and all. Have a good time for the rest of your stay here.” He raised his palm to wave before turning toward the driveway. A tiny pain shot through his heart as he walked away. Before he reached the SUV, Mindy was tugging on his sleeve.
“Don’t leave, Drew. Come upstairs. Let’s talk.”
“Just talk?” He cocked an eyebrow at her. What does she want from me?
“I thought you weren’t a mover.”
“I’m not. But are you?” Does she want sex?
“I don’t have to be. You said it yourself. Looking the way I do—and I don’t want to look like I’m bragging, but I’m pretty good to look at—usually means I call the shots. Most men go as far as they can until the woman says ‘no.’ So, I’ve never had to make the first move with a man.”
The curve of her calf caught his attention. Most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I’m only human.

“So what do you want from me? Do you want me to make a pass at you? It'd be very easy... Or do you just want to talk? I can’t read you at all. One minute you’re cozying up to me, the next you move away.”
“I like you. You’re sweet. Can’t we just…talk?” Her eyes were pleading, and he couldn’t resist.
“Of course.” Nice to know my radar still works.
She slipped her small hand into his then led him back to the staircase. “These stairs are steep as hell.”
“You’re in good shape. You can do it.” He took a peek at her legs.
“You noticed.” She glanced at him.
“I may not be a player, but I’m not dead either.”
